Download Your Information (Optional): Before deleting your account, you might want to download a copy of your information from Facebook. This includes your posts, photos, videos, messages, and more. To do this, go to Settings > Your Facebook Information > Download Your Information.
Deactivate Your Account (Optional): If you're not sure about permanently deleting your account, you can deactivate it temporarily. This option allows you to take a break from Facebook without losing your account data. To deactivate your account, go to Settings > Your Facebook Information > Deactivation and Deletion > Deactivate Account.
Permanently Delete Your Account:
- Go to the Facebook website and log in to your account.
- Once logged in, go to the following link: Delete My Account.
- Click on the "Delete Account" button.
- You'll be asked to enter your password and complete a security check (captcha).
- After confirming your password and completing the security check, click on "OK".
- Facebook will then inform you that your account has been scheduled for deletion. Your account will be permanently deleted after a grace period of 30 days. During this period, you can cancel the deletion request by logging back into your account.
Stay Logged Out: After initiating the deletion process, make sure to stay logged out of your Facebook account on all devices. Logging back in during the grace period may cancel the deletion request.
Notify Apps and Services Linked to Your Facebook Account: If you've used your Facebook account to log in to other apps or services, make sure to update your login information or unlink your Facebook account before deleting it.
Delete Facebook App: If you have the Facebook app installed on your mobile device, you may also want to delete the app after deleting your account to avoid any temptation to log back in.
