North Dakota State Information

 Some information about the state of North Dakota:



  1. Capital: Bismarck
  2. Largest City: Fargo
  3. Statehood: November 2, 1889 (39th state to join the Union)
  4. Nickname: The Peace Garden State
  5. Governor: As of my last update, Doug Burgum is the Governor.
  6. Population: Approximately 770,000 people, making it one of the least populous states in the U.S.
  7. Geography: North Dakota is located in the Upper Midwest region of the United States. It is bordered by Canada to the north, Minnesota to the east, South Dakota to the south, and Montana to the west. The Missouri River flows through the western part of the state.
  8. Economy: Historically based on agriculture (wheat, barley, and other crops), North Dakota's economy has expanded to include energy (oil and natural gas), manufacturing, technology, healthcare, and higher education.
  9. Landmarks: Significant landmarks include Theodore Roosevelt National Park (named after the president who first came to North Dakota for ranching), Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site, the State Capitol building in Bismarck, and the International Peace Garden on the Canadian border.

It hosts events like the Norsk Høstfest in Minot celebrating Scandinavian heritage, and is known for its outdoor recreational opportunities such as hunting, fishing, and hiking.
